Monthly Fees
The cost of classes for 2026/27 is $140 per month (includes HST).Each month is the same price as class prices have been averaged over the year, taking into account holidays.Fees are preferred to be paid by e-transfer to Sabrina@brushstrokestudios.ca or post-dated cheques made out to Brushstroke Studios. By the end of September please submit your post-dated cheques for October to June. Payments are due on or before the first of each month with the first payment due September 1st.
Upon registration a $50 non-refundable fee which covers the students' personal art supplies is due. For current students the fee is $18 as they already have some of the supplies.
Personal art supplies include: sketchbook, pencil case with art pencils, erasers (different types), smudgers and a set of brushes that are in a brush sleeve. All items are labelled with the students' name.Older students (junior high and high school) may choose to provide their own watercolour sets for when we do watercolour painting. It is not necessarily a requirement but students do get quite frustrated using shared sets as not everyone takes care of supplies in the same way. if you will be purchasing a set of watercolours good names for student quality are Prang, Arteza, Mungyo and Artecho. Sets range in price and you should expect to pay between $20-$35. If they are less money then that they tend to be very chalky and therefore not good. There are very expensive sets like Windsor Newton but unless your student is older and loves watercolour I probably wouldn't invest in them yet. All other art supplies are covered by the monthly fees. Students are required to leave their sketchbooks at the studio so that if work is being continued it is available for the next class. When we are planning a painting students will be required to do several sketches working out their painting in their sketchbooks. These sketches need to be available for reference while they are doing their painting.
Registration: June 1,2026 Registration is open to the general public as current students have until May 30 to re-register for classes.Registration is on going throughout the year.
A non-refundable registration/individual supply fee is due upon registration. The fee is $50 for new students and $18 for returning students.
Please make sure that your registration form is legible as I may need to call or email. Please use the email address that you are the most likely to check. It is important to respect your class time since classes only have a five minute gap between them to allow the movement of students coming and going. My supper hour is often used for office or prep time so please do not drop your child off early for their 6:00 class. Highschool students coming right from school will be early for their class; but, they can quietly read or draw or talk in the office while they await their class time.
Returned Cheques
There will be fee of $30 for any cheque returned by the financial institution for NSF or other reason. After a second returned cheque the student will need to pay by e-transfer.
